A postbox has been ripped out of the ground by a reversing truck in a coastal village.
The incident happened in Roughton on Monday when an oil tanker filling the underground tanks at Roughton Service Station reversed into it.
Royal Mail pillar-type postboxes - which are usually made from cast iron and are buried up to a metre underground - are considered to be "virtually indestructible".
But the box was torn from its foundations by the weight of the tanker and toppled over.

A notice on the box read: "Out of service. Any mail for posting can be handed over at the Post Office counter within the shop."
It is unknown how long the postbox will be out of action and Royal Mail has been contacted for comment.
