There are a number of important public information notices for communities in Norfolk to be aware of this week. 

1. New restaurant at seafront pier

Britannia Pier Limited has applied to Great Yarmouth Borough Council for a licence to add a new restaurant to the licensable area at the front of the Theatre.

The sale of alcohol will be from 11am to 12pm each day.

Objections to this application must be made to the licensing team at Great Yarmouth Town Hall via licensing@great-yarmouth.gov.uk. 

2. Major 11-week project in Great Yarmouth

An 11-week project that will see lane closures in Great Yarmouth is set to get under way next month. 

A new bus stop lay-by is being constructed on the eastern side of Acle New Road, between the station access road and the Vauxhall roundabout, during work which is set to start on March 4.

A lane will be closed on the outbound side of the Acle New Road for the duration of work but this will be removed during the Easter holidays and May Day weekend. 

Funding for the project is through the county council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) which was awarded nearly £50m from the Department for Transport to improve bus services throughout Norfolk.

3. Claims to the estate of Kathleen Warman

Anyone having a claim against or an interest in the estate of Kathleen Warman of 14 George Close in Drayton, who died on December 31, is asked to send a written notice to the address below on or before April 22. 

After this date, the estate will be distributed as per the notices received.

4. Alcohol licence for kiosk

Billy George Ellis has applied to Great Yarmouth Borough Council for a premises licence for the Seafood Kiosk at Empire Car Park in the town.

The sale of alcohol would take place from 10am to 11pm each day.

Objections to this application must be made to the licensing team at Great Yarmouth Town Hall via licensing@great-yarmouth.gov.uk. 

5. Broads pumping stations 

The Broads Internal Drainage Board has given notice that it intends to carry out improvement works to 13 pumping stations within the River Thurne catchment.

The proposed works include the construction of stations at Horsey, Somerton North, Somerton South, Martham, Repps Staithe, Thurne, St Benets, Horse Fen, Potter Heigham, Stubb and Brograve. 

The works will also include repairs to the culvert under the River Thurne at Thurne Boat Dyke and the replacement of the culvert under the River Thurne at Somerton Boat Dyke.
