A serial shoplifter who stole vodka, coffee and meat has been banned from various stores across the city.

Carl Westfield, 46, of Earlham Grove in Norwich, was sentenced at Norwich Magistrates' Court on February 16 having previously admitted to 12 theft charges.

Westfield's offences included taking vodka from Roys in Bowthorpe, laundry products, meat and chocolate from various Co-op stores, and coffee and meat from McColls in Colman Road.

All the offences took place in and around Norwich between November 1 and January 9.

In most cases, Westfield was caught and identified by the shop's CCTV.

He was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) that states he was banned from any East of England Co-op stores in Norwich, Tesco Express in Earlham, Roys in Bowthorpe, McColls in Colman Road, Morrisons in The Paddocks and Food Warehouse in Alex Moorhouse Way.

He must also engage positively with Change, Live, Grow and attend all intervention work.

While on remand Westfield engaged with Operation Converter and asked for four other offences to be taken into consideration.

These took place between April and September 2023 and also involved thefts of meat, laundry products and coffee from shops in Norwich.
