A hovercraft was used to rescue two people and a dog who were cut off by the tide.

Hunstanton RNLI hovercraft team rushed to Thornham marshland on Saturday evening where the party were stranded.

As darkness was falling and a high spring tide flooded the tidal marshes, the hovercraft arrived and quickly located the two people along with their dog.

They successfully picked the group up and took them to solid ground where they were helped by the Coastguard.

The hovercraft, called the Hunstanton Flyer, returned to the station where it was refuelled and prepared for another rescue.
