A man has admitted to holding a paramedic captive and threatening him with a knife.
Daniel Howard, 47, was charged with false imprisonment and threatening another with a blade in a private place.
It follows an incident at his home address at Humbleyard in the Clover Hill area of Norwich on July 12 last year.
It is understood Howard, who called the ambulance service as he was suffering from chest pains, locked in and threatened the paramedic with a kitchen knife.
Howard appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Monday when he entered guilty pleas to both charges.
Judge Anthony Bate adjourned sentencing until Wednesday.
Ian James appeared for the prosecution and Rob Pollington represented Howard.
