A Norfolk firm which supplies protective clothing to the energy sector is targeting expansion after a business takeover.
Gibb Group, based in Great Yarmouth, has bought Warrington-based Trauma and Resuscitation Services (Trauma Resus), the company behind a leading first aid programme created specifically for the renewable energy industry.
The acquisition will allow the Norfolk firm to provide specialist first aid kits and extend its offering to include comprehensive training courses on offshore first aid across the UK and the US, where Trauma Resus also has offices.
The 17-strong Trauma Resus team will continue to work from their offices in New York and Warrington.
Managing director of Gibb Group, Danny Rogers, said: “Whether at the top of a wind turbine, or working at sea level to decommission end-of-life assets, ensuring teams and assets are as risk-free as possible underpins our core ethos of ‘work safe, home safe’.
“Leading PPE coupled with robust sector-specific first aid training will ensure our customers can work more safely, more confidently, and more responsibly.”
