A man who died in a three-vehicle crash on the A47 near King's Lynn two weeks before Christmas has been named.

Steven Williams died after he was involved in a crash between two cars and a van on December 11.

The incident happened on the A47 at Clenchwarton, near King's Lynn, at 6.08am.

Mr Williams, who lived in Outwell, was the driver of one of the cars involved in the crash and died at the scene.

An inquest opened into his death on Tuesday, which heard that Mr Williams was 65 years old and was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Following the crash, several road closures were put in place as emergency services attended to the scene.

The driver of the second car involved, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

The road closure remained in place for almost 12 hours, re-opening at 4.13pm.

Area coroner Yvonne Blake told the court Mr Williams had died of multiple traumatic injuries due to an inquest.

She adjourned the hearing until 10am on August 28.
