A new dog exercise field could open in a Norfolk village.

Plans have been submitted to Broadland District Council (BDC) for land west of Reedham Road in Moulton St Mary, a village three miles south of Acle.

The applicant, MD Wright and Partners, is seeking to change the use of the site from agricultural to dog walking facility.

According to the proposals, the site would be screened from neighbouring houses by existing landscaping.

The field would also be enclosed on all sides by 1.8m fencing, providing a secure area and a buffer of approximately nine metres around the enclosed dog park.

The application includes plans for sheltered seating and a small car park and turning area at the front of the site, with space provided for four vehicles.

The existing access from Reedham Road would be retained, enhanced and widened by 1m to the north and 0.5m to the south to ensure adequate visibility, with the ground levelled and resurfaced.

The proposed opening hours are 7am to 8pm every day.

A decision on the bid is expected by March 29.
