A fine dining restaurant in Norfolk has never been one to rest on its laurels as it secures a Michelin star for a landmark 25th year. 

Morston Hall, near Blakeney, once again secured the accolade at the Michelin Guide Ceremony for Great Britain & Ireland 2024, which was hosted at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on Monday night.

It is awarded to restaurants that "use top quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavours are prepared to a consistently high standard".

It is one of four places in Norfolk that has retained its star in 2024 and the others are The Neptune in Old Hunstanton, Meadowsweet in Holt and Store in Stoke Holy Cross.

For Morston Hall chef-patron Galton Blackiston it was an extra special night as it marked 25 years of the restaurant consistently holding a star. 

Mr Blackiston said: "I can still recall the buzz of a quarter of a century ago when Morston Hall was awarded a Michelin star for the first time.

"We’ve been immensely proud each time we have retained the star, so to be celebrating for a 25th successive year is beyond our wildest dreams.

“I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the business – and to our countless loyal customers for their incredible support."

In their recent listings for Morston Hall, the Michelin team has praised Mr Blackiston's knowledge and appreciation of Norfolk produce.

The fine dining spot also holds four AA rosettes for culinary excellence and was recently ranked among the top 1,000 restaurants in the world by La Liste.

Morston Hall, which is also a country house hotel with 13 en-suite rooms, has its origins in the 17th century and it was established by co-owners Galton and Tracy Blackiston.

The restaurant offers a set seven-course dinner menu, which changes daily, a four-course Sunday lunch, afternoon tea and private dining.
