A gas leak in a Norfolk town centre is set to cause a week of disruption as emergency repairs take place.
Swaffham Road in Dereham was closed on Thursday evening after a member of the public reported smelling gas.
Cadent gas engineers quickly began work in the area as temporary traffic lights were put up.

A Cadent spokesman said: “Our work area is taking up a large part of the road and, unfortunately, we have had no other option than to close Swaffham Road from the junction of Quebec Road to Becclesgate.

"We know that this is far from ideal, but hope people understand the necessity for this."
The disruption is set to last for a week with the lights outside The George Hotel having gained permission from Norfolk County Council until February 5.
This adds to traffic woes in the town, as around the corner Matsell Way is currently closed as work to improve the pedestrian crossing takes place.
