A brother and sister team are set to open NR2's newest coffee shop next month.

Grounded Coffee Bar in Unthank Road is opening its doors in the former home of The Printer Shop.

Siblings Charlie Day and Simon Howland took on the vacant shop in July of last year and now plan to open in late February.

"We always loved the idea of a coffee shop, and now my children are at high school, I can put my heart and soul into it," she said.

There will be outside seating on the street, next to The Unthank Kitchen, with the front of the "comfortable, light, cheerful" café used for the main counter and the back room for inside seating.

Grounded is also set to offer sweet treats from local suppliers, including brownies from The Feed, as well as its own merchandise.
