The restaurant was launched in 2011, by art dealer Ivor Braka, in the historic Gunton Hall and sits in a 1000-acre deer park.

He began restoring the estate in 2009, filling it with artwork from Damian Hirst and Lucien Freud.

Taking to Instagram on making the top 50, the gastropub said: "To be voted by our peers in the industry is such an honour, especially as there are so many worthy gastropubs, so thank you to those who voted for us!"

Mr Braka runs the pub in tandem with husband-wife team Stuart and Simone Tattersall.

Estrella Damn said of The Gunton Arms: "Being a stone’s throw from the feted fishing town of Cromer, it makes sense that the Gunton’s offer is anchored in good seafood, including mussels and Cromer crab caught by local fishermen."

The team at The Gunton Arms has scooped multiple awards including being named the best place in the UK for a foodie escape and the nation's prettiest country pub.
