People living in Halesworth, Dennington, Saxtead and Framlingham may be experiencing low water pressure or no water due to a burst water main.

Essex and Suffolk Water said: "Our teams have been working through the night to repair the burst water main near our Walpole Water Treatment Works.

"Due to the location, this is proving a difficult operation in challenging conditions, with sub-zero temperatures, but we hope to complete the repair soon.

"Our teams are working hard to get the situation resolved as soon as we can."

Kieran Ingram, water director at Essex and Suffolk Water, said: "We are asking for customers not to call us unless it is an emergency as we want to keep the lines free for urgent requests for help.

"However, should you be contacted by any customers who are experiencing difficulties or require extra support, please do let us know and we will pass their details to our Customer team."

In a further update the authority said extra water supplies are being tanked to areas without water and bottles of water are being delivered to people on the Priority Service register.

It is not known when the water will return.
