A Norfolk pub, which shines a spotlight on local produce, has been voted into the top three for a huge national award.

At the end of last year, The Angel at Watlington, near King's Lynn, was shortlisted in the best pub or restaurant category at the Eat Game Awards 2024.

After a public vote, this has now been whittled down to just three places, with the winners across various categories to be revealed at a ceremony in London on March 14.

Chef Richard Crouch and his partner Emily Phipps took on and refurbished The Angel at Watlington in 2018.

They have built up a strong reputation for using local and seasonal produce, which includes tasting menu events with game meats such as pheasant, wild duck and guinea fowl.

Across the border in Suffolk, there are three finalists which are Maisebrooke Farm Shop in Beccles (best small retailer), Lavenham Butchers (best game butcher) and Truly Traceable (best innovation).
