Ahead of the release of The Michelin Guide - Great Britain & Ireland 2024, we take a look at the Norfolk restaurants that currently hold a coveted star.

The restaurants with Michelin Stars in the 2024 guide will be announced on Monday, February 5 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

There will also be a range of special awards given out on the night, including Green Stars for sustainability champions.

There are currently four places in Norfolk with one Michelin Star, with a maximum of three available.

One star is awarded to restaurants that "use top quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavours are prepared to a consistently high standard".

1. Store, Stoke Holy Cross

Earning its first Michelin Star in 2023, Store is located in the back room of Stoke Mill Restaurant, where the mustard seed used to be kept by Colman's Mustard.

Despite only launching in May 2021, Store head chef Liam Nichols has made a big impression with his seasonal tasting menus served in an intimate dining room.

2. Meadowsweet, Holt 

This restaurant with rooms also opened in May 2021 and in early 2022 it was awarded its first Michelin Star, which it retained in 2023.

It is run by chef Greg Anderson and his partner Rebecca Williams and guests can expect fine dining in a lovingly-restored Grade II-listed Georgian building.

3. Morston Hall, Morston

A Michelin mainstay, Morston Hall, which is also a country house hotel, has retained a coveted star since 1999.

The chef-patron is Galton Blackiston, who is also behind the award-winning No.1 Fish and Chips in Cromer, and the Morston Hall menu is a celebration of Norfolk produce. 

It is also the only restaurant in Norfolk to hold 4 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.

4. The Neptune, Old Hunstanton

The Neptune, run by dedicated husband-and-wife team Kevin and Jacki Mangeolles, has held a Michelin Star since 2009 and it serves a modern British menu. 

You can either book for a three-course dinner or the tasting menu and there are four comfortable bedrooms if you want to stay overnight and explore the Norfolk coast.
