Plans for a spa garden and treatment rooms at a popular pub and hotel have been withdrawn.

The Ffolkes Arms at Hillington, near King's Lynn, unveiled plans to expand its offering last year. It followed a major refurbishment of the site in 2022.

It said its latest addition would help to "build upon a successful and vibrant business", create jobs and support tourism, while the owners remain committed to developing the site next to the main A148.

West Norfolk council's head of tourism Phil Eke said: "The Ffolkes Arms Hotel proposal demonstrates an increased focus on experiential tourism (bookable experiences for visitors), a popular international tourism trend which has gained increasing interest in recent years."

Hillington Parish Council also supported the plans. But West Norfolk's planning portal now lists the proposals as being withdrawn, with no reason given.
