A former Norfolk police officer is facing disciplinary action for sending inappropriate messages and images to a number of female colleagues.

Detective Sergeant Thomas Harvey will appear before a misconduct hearing later this month to answer claims that he breached the expected standards of professional behaviour.

He faces a two-day hearing on January 25 and 26 to answer allegations that he sent unsolicited and inappropriate messages and images between 2011 and February 2023.

He is said to have “had personal data from Norfolk Constabulary systems, some of which was sensitive personal data on his personal mobile telephone”.

The panel will determine whether the behaviour of the former officer, who has since left the force, amounted to discreditable conduct and breached standards in relation to confidentiality and authority, respect and courtesy.

In a separate case a serving officer faces a misconduct hearing over claims he “failed to take appropriate action when dealing with an intoxicated male who had allegedly been involved in a domestic incident”.

PC Robert Ellis will appear at a disciplinary hearing on January 8-12.
