Council bosses hope a decision over a controversial new recycling centre will be made early this year, with work on the £1.65m tip starting in the summer.
But objectors say the new Sheringham Recycling Centre will be an eyesore in beautiful countryside and should not be built there.
Norfolk County Council has applied to its own planning committee for permission to build the new centre on land off Holt Road in East Beckham.
The new tip would be built on land opposite the existing centre and accessed from the A148 Holt Road.
But County Hall's plans have triggered opposition, with the site on farmland within the designated protected landscape of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Countryside charity CPRE Norfolk has objected, while the Norfolk Coast Partnership and North Norfolk District Council raised "serious concerns".
Nearby Hilltop Adventure Centre is also worried about the impact on its 30-acre site.
The centre's objection is among 23 comments lodged by members of the public and businesses.
Fourteen of those who responded are keen to see the new recycling centre.
One supporter said: "I am in support of this planning application and repositioning of the waste recycling centre due to the often congested parking areas and frequent issues when entering or leaving the site."
There were 10 objections, with one stating: "I strongly object to this ridiculous short-sighted plan - of course, there will be increased traffic."

A Norfolk County Council spokeswoman said: "We’re grateful to everyone who took part in the initial consultation and we’re currently collating all the feedback we received.
"As part of the ongoing planning process, we will be submitting our response to the comments raised from the initial consultation in the new year, and then there will be a further consultation on our response before the application will be determined."
The council hopes the planning committee will make a decision early this year.
If permission is granted, work on the new centre is due to start in the summer, with the tip open either later this year or early next year.
