With winter well under way the Norfolk coast takes on a new character and is still well worth a visit even in colder conditions.
Sheringham particularly hones itself as a wintry wonder and is easily accessible with a direct train from Norwich.
Its award-winning beach offers the perfect chance to blow the cobwebs away, or for something more sheltered, Sheringham Park is steeped in history and is rated as one of the National Trust's best winter walks.
From new restaurants and family-owned bistros to award-winning cafes, popular pubs and quirky street food vendors - the town has one of the best food scenes in the whole of Norfolk.
Cozy cafes are also in abundance with the award-winning seafront Whelk Coppers offering a menu filled with some of the best local ingredients.
The town was even named one of the best places to live by the sea according to a Sunday Times list.
It was described as being a "sweet spot on the lovely north Norfolk coast...with a community that keeps the place lively all year".
The North Norfolk Railway also runs from the seaside town, inland, to the picturesque market town of Holt.
