From a new cinema to designer clothing, there are plenty of changes under way at Chantry Place.

Here are five updates that shoppers will want to know about.

1. New cinema

A four-screen Everyman Cinema is set to move into Chantry Place.

It will occupy three units at the centre, including the former Pizza Hut restaurant and the existing Escape Hunt venue on the ground floor.

But the launch of the new cinema will mean the Escape Hunt escape rooms will have to close.

The business is set to shut its doors for the final time on January 8 and relocate the games to its second site in Castle Quarter.

2. Flannels

Flannels will move into the former Sports Direct premises in spring 2024.

Flannels stocks a range of women's, men's and children's designer goods, including fashion from brands such as Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Stone Island, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent, and beauty products and homeware from giants like Dior, Chanel, Versace and Chanel.

Sports Direct has moved into the refurbished Frasers since its closure.

Bubble CiTea, a bubble tea brand, relocated to a larger unit inside Chantry Place after its initial success.

It can now be found on the lower ground floor beside Shaake and opposite Krispy Kreme.

The extra space will allow the business to expand its menu and sell more merchandise.

4. M&M Sweet Treats

The family-owned Norfolk business, M&M Sweet Treats, specialises in baked goods.

It launched in 2022 and moved into its own store in Chantry Place in November.

M&M Sweet Treats can be found on the lower ground floor of Chantry Place next to HMV.

5. Monsoon and Accessorize

Sister businesses Monsoon and Accessorize both occupied the first floor of Chantry Place, offering womenswear and accessories respectively.

But earlier this month, shoppers noticed a sign in the Monsoon window stating that they had closed and that the nearest alternative store was in Cambridge.

Paul McCarthy, general manager at Chantry Place, said "a leading fashion retailer" is set to replace them next year and that more details would be shared soon.
