A well-trodden winter walking route has reopened after nearly four months of conservation work.

The Lake Walk at Blickling Estate is now fully open to the public after the circular route was closed on September 4.

The closure was in place at the north end of the lake while work was under way to resolve issues with the dam walls.

The lake is one of the "most-loved features of the landscape" and is teeming with wildlife including carp, pike, reed warblers and great crested grebes.

The National Trust said: "The lake walk at Blickling is particularly atmospheric on a frosty winter’s morning, with the reflections and big open Norfolk skies providing plenty of opportunities for budding photographers."
