After a bumper year featuring a wide variety of events, Dereham Memorial Hall is looking ahead to an exciting 2024.
The team is promising something for everyone over the next 12 months, from a puppet show to a ‘disco for grown-ups’, plus tribute acts, theatre productions and exhibitions.
With a range of showings secured, Tim Cara of Friends of Dereham Memorial Hall said: “It does look as though the Memorial Hall is back and attracting a wide range of events again. We are delighted that more commercial promoters are bringing their talented performers here and that more local performing arts schools are using the fantastic facilities.
“The Friends will continue to expand the range of entertainment we offer so that something is happening for everyone."
Dereham Theatre Company’s Christmas pantomime Cinderella, is showing from December 27 to January 1.
Already sold out is the annual visit of ‘We Three Kings of Rock N Roll’ featuring tributes to Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley. Luke Combs UK tour is coming to town, which is already a sell-out.
An afternoon with songwriter and author Terence Blacker to celebrate the art of ageing in style, hits Dereham on January 29, with free tickets.
February is promising to be a packed month ‘Just Like That’ on the 16th, Hambledon Production’s portrayal of the uniquely comic genius, Tommy Cooper, is finally coming to the Dereham.
Followed by a half-term holiday puppet show for 3-7 year olds. ‘The ‘Witch and the Egg’ on February 23, with tickets already on sale at just £3 for children, £7 for an adult.
March will bring six attractions. Mid Norfolk Railway’s Model Railway Exhibition on March 2. On the 7th Reflex Theatre from Norwich brings its new play ‘Call Me John’.
More musical tributes, this time to Neil Diamond and Elvis hit Dereham on March 15 before Busybodies Stage School displayed their talent on Sunday 17th.
On the 22nd the premier theatre company Eastern Angles offered their latest touring production, ‘Stones In His Pocket’. Rounding off a busy month, Filthy Rich Events bring their adults-only 80s Party Night to the Memorial Hall on March 23.
Add the monthly meetings of U3A, which always welcome potential new members as guests, weekly Modern Jive classes, and the constant additions of new events.
