A Norwich theatre is once again taking the stress away from families with two Christmas shows aimed at young children.

Adventure awaits at The Garage, next to Chapelfield Gardens, with two seasonal shows designed to ease your little ones into a theatre setting.

My First: The Night Before Christmas is for ages 0-4 and it sees explorer Lucy in a fluster.

"They can make noise, get up and move about and come in and out of the space as much as they need."

A Pinocchio Adventure is for five-year-olds upwards, who are too old for My First but not quite ready for a full-blown theatre trip.

Pinocchio thought life would be better with no strings to hold him down, but being human comes with a whole heap of different ties.

He soon feels the pull of being a puppet again – which the sly Fox and Cat pounce on.

Packed full of original songs composed by Norwich-raised Lloyd Gorman, actor-musicians Andrew Armfield and Rachel Barnes play multiple characters.

Both shows are co-produced by The Garage and city-based All-In Productions, with Arts Council funding.

Daniel Burgess, of All-In Productions who wrote and directed both shows, said: "Dancing, singing, music and storytelling are great ways to help children’s development in those crucial early years of learning.

"Both are fun, feel-good, family adventures and a fantastic way to enjoy an hour with their grown-ups too.”
