A third man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Beccles in November. 

The incident took place on Saturday, November 18 at around 2.45am on London Road.

The male victim in his 50s was attacked by a group of people who emerged from a car. 

The victim was pulled to the floor, assaulted and then was driven over, leaving him with serious injuries. 

He was taken to the James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, for treatment before being transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, for surgery and has since been discharged with life changing injuries.

Lewis Aldridge, who was initially arrested in November and bailed until February, was re-arrested on Thursday and subsequently charged with attempted murder. 

Aldridge, 27, of the Market Place, Southwold, appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court today, where he was remanded to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on January 15, 2024.

Nathan Baker, 19, of Quay Street, Halesworth, and Daniel Hermon, 26, of Market Place, Southwold, have already both been charged with attempted murder.

The pair were remanded and are next due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on December 18, 2023.
