The police presence for this weekend's East Anglian derby will be 'significantly larger' than other matches.

Norfolk and Suffolk Police have been working alongside Norwich City and Ipswich Town football clubs to plan for Saturday's 12.30pm Championship fixture.

Nearly 30,000 people are set to attend the match and a number of measures are in place to ensure the safety of fans.

This is the first derby since Norwich won 3-0 at Carrow Road in February 2019.

Detective Chief Superintendent David Cutler, the policing commander for the match, said: "This is one of the biggest games of the season and our policing operation will also be significantly larger than most other matches.

"We very much hope that there will be no trouble between the two sets of supporters, but we will deal with this quickly and effectively if any does occur.

"We may use dispersal powers if required that will allow us to deal with individuals who are, or who we believe are likely to, engage in anti-social behaviour."

Bag searches will be taking place at the stadium and several road closures will be in place before and after the game has finished.

Greater Anglia is providing additional trains for away fans with a pre-match special service.
