A children’s shoe shop with a famous mascot has confirmed it will remain in its city centre spot.

Stompers, famous for the spinning monkey in its shop window, has signed a new five year lease to remain in the Royal Arcade Norwich, where it has been for the past 27 years.

Simon Ashdown, director of LPC1 Ltd, the company that manages the Royal Arcade, said: “I am really pleased to have agreed a lease renewal for Stompers.

“The company has been very successful in building Stompers reputation as the ‘go to’ shop in Norfolk for children’s shoes thanks to the expertise and attention they deliver, day in, day out, to customers.

“Its loyal customer base is a great testament to this and is something the community of store owners that we have in the Arcade aspire to.

“And the really good news for the shoppers of Norwich is that the spinning monkey now has another five years of activity ahead of it.”

Founded in 1996 by Tim and Xian Catmull, the shop is one of the longest-standing leaseholders in the Royal Arcade.
