Have a cosy catch-up in one of the new heated pods at an award-winning Norfolk café.

Heydon Tea Room, near Aylsham, has an upgraded outdoor seating area, which can now be enjoyed all year round.

There are two new oak-framed gazebos with canvas panels and inside there are tabletop heaters, crocheted blankets, fairy lights and hot water bottles.

If you are looking for an extra special treat then you can pre-book a Christmas-themed afternoon tea, which you can have indoors or outdoors until December 30.

It costs £30pp and includes unlimited tea and coffee, finger sandwiches and savouries such as a turkey and stuffing pinwheel and a stilton and walnut shortbread Christmas tree.

The sweet treats include a fruit cake with marzipan holly, a mince pie Bakewell and an After Eight brownie.

The tea also comes with scones and you can add a glass of wine or prosecco for an additional charge. 

Heydon Tea Room, which has been run by Cindy Halls since 2011, was named Norfolk's best café at the Muddy Stilettos 2021 Awards and it has won several accolades for its homemade afternoon tea.
