A Norwich teenager banned from contact with a far-right group has denied harassing former members and sending offensive messages including homophobic abuse.
Kai Stephens, 19, of Fugill Road, is subject to bail conditions that prevent him from contacting any members of Patriotic Alternative.
He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded not guilty to sending communications containing indecent or offensive messages and two charges of harassment against a man and a woman.
Prosecutor Josephine Jones said one had attended a conference where he had taken issue with comments.
“That led to him becoming a target,” she said.
Stephens is accused of posting abusive and homophobic insults on the Telegram app, popular with the far right.
Ralph Gillam, mitigating, said he denied being responsible for the comments alleged.
He will stand trial at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court on July 15 next year.
His bail conditions also ban him from attending all LGBQT+ events.
Last year far right group Patriotic Alternative staged a protest outside the Forum in Norwich over a planned event involving a drag queen reading to children.
