A woman has been warned she could be jailed after she admitted stabbing her former partner in the street.

Marquita Kershaw, 40, stabbed Wayne McCloud in the chest with a large kitchen knife near her home in Mace Road, Bradwell.

Mr McCloud, who also suffered a defensive wound to his hand, was taken to the James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) following the attack which happened at about 10.44pm on November 10 last year.

The stab wound suffered by Mr McCloud was so deep it "grazed the liver".

Kershaw had been due to go on trial at Norwich Crown Court having denied wounding with intent and unlawful wounding.

But Kershaw pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding.

John Morgans, prosecuting, said following discussions with the victim and the officer in the case it had been decided the plea was acceptable.

Will Carter, representing Kershaw, said there would be an application for a pre-sentence report on behalf of the defendant.

He said she was now 40 and had matters recorded against her.
