Fire crews remain at the scene of a thatched house blaze which saw 16 appliances attend.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Quidenham at about 1.15pm on Monday (November 20) after reports of a large fire at a thatched house.

It was first reported that the fire broke out in Larling, near Attleborough, but Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed that it happened in Quidenham.

A total of 16 crews were dispatched to the scene including a water carrier and managed to bring it under control but significant damage was caused to the home.

Ambulance services were also at the scene and one person was treated for smoke inhalation.

A spokesman for the fire service said that crews from Long Stratton and Earlham remain at the scene dampening down and checking for hot spots.
