A café and bistro in the Norfolk Broads is shutting down due to financial difficulties.

Staithe 'n' Willow in Horning will be closing its doors after a final lunch service on Sunday.

Alex Webb and Fiona Anderson opened the café in a 400-year-old thatched cottage on the River Bure in 2022 after deciding to leave their professions to launch the business together.

The couple took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce the closure of the Staithe 'n' Willow.

"This has not been an easy choice, but it is necessary for various reasons.

"We want to express our sincere gratitude for your loyal support over the last two years, your patronage and trust have meant the world to us and we are truly thankful for the relationships we have built with each and every one of you."

Mr Webb added that the cost of living crisis and other financial pressures relating to the rising price of bills were among the factors that led to the decision.

The bistro will reopen for one night only on November 30 for Christmas celebrations in the village.
