Crews were called to a west Norfolk town at midday on Saturday (November 4) to reports of a fire at a launderette.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to The Downham Laundry in London Road in Downham Market at just after 11.30am.

They sent appliances from Downham Market and Outwell and the crews wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots and the stop message was received at 12.14pm.

It is believed that no one was injured in the incident.  

Locals posted in Downham Market Facebook groups that there was a road closure in place.
