Ahead of the full programme being released next year, the first seven shows have just been announced for the Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2024. 

The event will run for 17 days from May 10 to 26, with artists from around the world, including many local acts, presenting shows in Norwich and across the county. 

All the way from South America and created especially for the Adnams Spiegeltent in the city's 'Festival Gardens', Circolombia will present the world premiere of Corazón from May 15 to 26.

The group showcases the talents of young Columbians with high-energy modern circus shows.

On May 11, Aurora Orchestra is back on the line-up for the first time in seven years with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 at Norwich Cathedral.  

Also on the opening weekend, Ashley Grote will present a unique, meditative performance on the newly rebuilt Norwich Cathedral organ on May 12.

Just announced, the harpsichord sensation Mahan Esfahani will perform with Britten Sinfonia at St Peter Mancroft in Norwich on May 25. 

Kenny Anderson (aka King Creosote) will bring his emotive brand of folk-pop to Norwich Cathedral on May 18.

Norwich-born musician Laura Cannell will present the live version of her seventh solo album, Antiphony of the Trees, to Norwich Cathedral on May 12.

Finally, fellow East Anglian and poet Luke Wright returns with his latest critically acclaimed show Silver Jubilee on May 24 in the Adnams Spiegeltent.

Daniel Brine, Norfolk and Norwich Festival director, said: “It always feels like we are up and running each year with the announcement of the first shows.

"While it is only a tiny taste of what is to come, there is a nice representative blend of the local and the international - something that’s particularly important to our Festival."
