Firefighters were called to reports of an explosion in a Norfolk town overnight.

Crews received calls that a gas cylinder had exploded in Maurice Gaymer Road in Attleborough.

Appliances from Attleborough, Wymondham, Gorleston and Hethersett were called to the scene at about 9.40pm on Tuesday (October 31).

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said nobody was injured and no damage was caused as a result of the incident.

"This was a industrial gas cylinder venting off," the spokesman added.

"Crews used gas monitors to check the scene was safe."

Crews left the scene at about 11.35pm after making sure everything was safe.
