Norwich Market shines that little bit brighter thanks to the no-fuss, taste-first approach from the city's own Brick Pizza.

The pizzeria, preferring a cosy hole-in-the-wall to a full-blown restaurant, is located next to the Sir Garnet pub and busies itself with offering a small but no less fine menu of Neopolitan favourites.

Opting for more of a "street eats" style of ordering and eating, there is space enough inside for 20-odd people with a counter service that makes choosing what you want to eat and paying for it a doddle.

We arrived around 7pm on a Friday and were glad to find space inside, taking a seat at one of the four tables at the prompting of two smiling servers.

One of Brick's greatest strengths is its partnership with the Sir Garnet, allowing pub patrons to order directly to their tables inside while enjoying a G&T.

This adds to the bustling atmosphere and can lead it to get a little busy, but it slows as the night draws on.

There are 16 pizzas to choose from off the menu, as well as two specials and a range of extras. Drink options are limited but the Garnet is just next door.

My partner and I ordered the garlic doughballs and burrata salad as starters, with the "Cheeky" and ham & mushroom as mains.

To drink, I had a pint of Bitburger and she had a glass of white wine which both pair wonderfully with pizza.

Wait times seem to range anywhere from 15 minutes while it is quiet to 45 minutes on a busy night as servers go back and forth to the Garnet.

Our sides and mains came at once and we tucked in. My partner enjoyed her burrata salad very much, and I thought the garlic doughballs were lovely - but thought overall they could do with a lot more garlic butter. I recommend ordering another pot (£1.50) on the side if you fancy having enough.

The "Cheeky" came with guanciale (pork cheek), onion, chillies and parmesan, and was a perfect temperature and heat level, the chillies giving it an ever so slight kick.

The ham & mushroom is a perfectly cooked classic, delivering a balanced mouthful of dough, cheese and meat.

Another of Brick's strengths is the quality of its dough, creating an excellent crust on all its wood-fired pizzas that rival even Donnelli's.

Once finished, we were not rushed out and stepped out after finishing our drinks.

In summary, the meal was casual and affordable, tasty, well-portioned, and convenient. Highly recommend.
