A lifeboat out on an exercise was redirected to help a dog seemingly stranded on a sandbank... only to see the dog swim back to its owners.
The Hunstanton-based crew were out at sea on Sunday morning when they were sent to help find and help a labrador cut off by the tide.
RNLI Hunstanton wrote on Facebook: "This morning while out on exercise Hunstanton Lifeboat B-848 was redirected to the sand banks off Heacham beach to locate and assist a labrador cut off by the tide.

"While en route to the sandbank our volunteer crew stood down as the dog had swam back to the mainland to its owners."
The post was met with praise from followers.
