The appointment of one of Norwich City Council’s most senior officials has been agreed.
Karen Sly has been appointed City Hall’s director of finance and section 151 officer, one of the top roles at the authority.
The job pays up to £93,531.
Ms Sly is a familiar face in Norfolk, having worked at Great Yarmouth Borough Council for the last seven years and North Norfolk District Council for the eight years prior to that.
Ms Sly started at West Norfolk Council in 1995.
At a meeting on Friday, Paul Kendrick, cabinet member for finance, described her as having “tremendous potential”.
The position was unanimously approved.
The appointment of Ms Sly is one of seven senior roles the council has been attempting to fill.
The shakeup of the top team comes after the appointment of Louise Rawsthorne as chief executive in May.
Ms Rawsthorne called for a review of the executive leadership team, with executive director of housing and communities; executive director of resources; head of building safety and compliance; director of property; director of housing services and community safety; and head of finance all needing to be filled.
