There were delays of up to 30 minutes on a major Norfolk road.
The queues were stretching as far as three miles on the A47 Acle Straight.
Norfolk Police were called to the scene where a vehicle had broken down on the road at 10.23am.
Officers assisted with towing the vehicle off the road.
