A town in this region has been named one of the 20 kindest in the UK.

Beccles, which sits on the border between Norfolk and Suffolk, was ranked in the top 20 kindest towns by the UK Greeting Card Association.

Data from two surveys was compiled to highlight the kindest and most considerate parts of the country.

The Greeting Card Association said: "More than two in five of the UK population now say they only use the Royal Mail to send greeting cards – nothing else – and for every 10 letters now sent, three greeting cards are purchased.

"It stands to reason that greeting card senders are some of the country’s most thoughtful and kind people.

"So, the Greeting Card Association has drawn on the findings of two of its largest members to reveal which British towns sent more greeting cards than any other."

The English towns of Carlisle, Chester, Cambridge, Droitwich, Harlow, Harwich, Mansfield, Southend-on-Sea, Stockton-on-Tees and Wigan featured further down the list.

Alness, Cowdenbeath, Largs and Stranraer represented Scotland while Cardiff and Newtown followed Denbigh for Wales.
