Norwich North MP Chloe Smith is to take up an honorary fellowship at the University of East Anglia to give guest lectures and seminars to students.

Conservative Ms Smith, who is standing down at the next general election, has agreed to take up the role for three years.

The UEA said it has awarded the fellowship in recognition of Ms Smith's work with the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies.

Former cabinet minister Ms Smith will give regular guest lectures and seminars, on a voluntary, unpaid basis, to undergraduates and post-graduates.
