A health and safety expert has attended an event celebrating the top 100 women in the construction industry.

Carly Hughes, a health and safety practitioner from Gorleston, attended the National Federation of Builders' Top 100 Women in Construction Awards 2023 held at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

She works for SHE Advises Ltd, a health and safety consultancy and training provider, and was shortlisted for the “Local hero - Eastern” award for her efforts in assisting local construction clients on managing health and safety within their workplaces.

As a health and safety practitioner she has worked within the industry since she was 18, has over nine years' experience across an array of sectors, and is currently working towards her chartership with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

She recently won the One to Watch award at the Design & Build UK Top 100 Women in Construction Awards, held at the Grand de Vere Connaught Rooms in London.
