An unlicensed driver led police on a seven-mile chase across north Norfolk as he attempted to avoid capture - even continuing after a stinger burst his car's tyres.
Robert Massingham, 21, drove on the wrong side of the road and caused other terrified drivers to swerve to avoid colliding during the high speed pursuit on August 16.
Despite police using the stinger device to burst the tyres of his Vauxhall Astra he continued along the busy A148.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard he was so determined not to be caught that even after police finally managed to stop his car he attempted to flee on foot before officers managed to restrain him using pepper spray.

Sally Harris, prosecuting, said the chase had taken place at the height of the tourist season with the roads full of holidaymakers.
It began after Massingham had overtaken a police car on the A148 at Letheringsett Hill triggering its on-board ANPR system which alerted officers that he had no licence or insurance.
When they attempted to pull him over he refused to stop sparking a pursuit that continued around the outskirts of Holt and through High Kelling and Bodham before he was finally forced to a halt near Upper Sheringham.
“During the pursuit there were a number of incidents including driving on the wrong side of the road,” Ms Harris said.
“After a stinger was used he continued driving on the rims which led to the vehicle swerving across the road and losing control several times.

“It also caused him to fishtail across the road causing other vehicles to take evasive action.”
Massingham, of Chapel Lane in Hempstead, near Holt, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and having no licence and insurance.
He will be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on November 6 after magistrates decided they had insufficient powers for his “seriously dangerous driving”.
They imposed an interim driving ban and bail that bans him from being in the front seat of any vehicle.
