Police are investigating a late night brawl at a Suffolk pub.

The fight at The Waveney in Oulton Broad, near Lowestoft, involved multiple people in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police arrived at the scene at around 1.45am on Sunday.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: "Police are currently investigating an affray we attended at the Waveney in the early hours of Sunday morning."

It is understood that numerous people were involved in the fracas.

The incident comes just weeks after a review of the pub's licence was lodged by East Suffolk Council following a fight which saw a man hospitalised on August 26.

A man in his 50s suffered serious injuries to the face and jaw.

Following the incident Suffolk Police issued an order forcing the pub on Bridge Road to close until Tuesday, August 30.

Craft Union Pub Company, which owns The Waveney, were approached for a comment on the latest incident.
