Staff at a Wilko store in Norfolk have marked the closure of their branch with a Sound of Music performance.

Workers at the Minstergate store in Thetford performed a rendition of 'So Long, Farewell' as the final customer left the shop.

It comes after the homeware retailer announced it was going into administration in August.

A video on TikTok, which has had more than 450,000 views, shows the workers taking their final bows as they bid farewell to the store that had become their "second family".

The dance was proposed by the store's manager who had seen other stores do the same thing.

Minstergate's Wilko had been open since 2008 and some employees had worked there for a decade.

Hayley Burrows, 37, took part in the video with seven of her colleagues.

Hayley herself was about to celebrate her eighth anniversary when the shop shut its doors on September 24.

"It's an important part of the community - some people have been in the company for decades," she said.

"I know it sounds silly but my colleagues really are like family.

"One ex-colleague came back and put her uniform on again just to say goodbye with us."

Hayley and her team plan to remain friends and have set up a WhatsApp group to stay in touch.

She added: "We've seen each other through life's ugliest moments.

"In 2019 I received a call that said my mother had passed away and my colleagues saw me through that.

"I really do think they're friends for life."
