High-street coffee giant Starbucks is eyeing up a Norfolk town for a new location but has yet to reveal any key details.

The brand has confirmed it is set to open a new branch in Great Yarmouth, with plans to expand into the popular Gapton Hall Retail Park on the west side of town.

Starbucks currently has only one store in Great Yarmouth, at Market Gates.

There is speculation the coffee chain will move into a disused unit between Pizza Hut and Halfords near the A47 Gapton roundabout - which was formerly a Carphone Warehouse - but no location has been officially confirmed.

The news comes shortly after Starbucks announced it had plans to open more than 100 shops in the UK following a jump in sales.

The cafe giant said it aims to invest £30m in its UK operation through store openings, as well as carrying out refurbishments to existing sites.
