The ‘founding fathers’ of a popular folk festival in Cromer will return for a special concert.
Fairport Convention, who were central to the start of the annual Folk on the Pier event, will play at the pier’s Pavilion Theatre on Wednesday, November 1.
This year marks the band’s 56th year on the British folk-rock scene, and they plan to play some old favourites as well as new material at the gig.
The band has won a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and Radio 2 listeners voted their ground-breaking album Liege and Lief 'The most influential folk album of all time'.
The line-up features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar and vocals, Ric Sanders on violin and Chris Leslie on bouzouki, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and vocals.
Doors open for the gig at 7.30pm and the concert starts at 8pm. Tickets are £28 available from the box office on 01263 512495 or online at www.cromerpier.co.uk.
