Plans for two "traditional" cottages in a coastal village have been given the go-ahead.

West Norfolk Council has agreed planning permission for the properties to be built on land off Malthouse Crescent, in Heacham.

A planning statement said the three-bed properties would be affordable homes, which are needed in the village.

It added: "We consider the application site to be located in a very sustainable location and to be suitable for this type of development.

"The applicant is making very good economic use of surplus residential garden that would provide two modest three-bedroom dwellings that has highlighted to be in demand within the village of Heacham."

The statement says there would be no adverse impact on neighbouring properties or the character of the area.

Each property would have air source heat pumps, electric car chargers and two parking spaces.
