A forgotten Norfolk pub is reopening under the helm of a couple who are passionate about breathing life back into village locals.

Barry and Michelle Driver moved to Spain six years ago after previously running the Explorers Bar and Coffee House in Briston, which they sold in 2016.

They have now returned to the county and are the new owners of The Olive Tree in Little Snoring, formerly the Green Man which will now reopen as a European bistro and bar.

Mr Driver said: "The locals are really pleased that we've come back and plan to reopen the village's pub.

"It's always had a notorious reputation as a drinker's pub, so we've now introduced food and a restaurant which we hope will bring a relaxing atmosphere to the venue."

The menu is tapas inspired with dishes including deep-fried ham croquettes and Patatas Bravas.

Roast dinner will be served on a Sunday with a choice of three locally sourced meats and seasonal veg with all the trimmings.

They will also have a range of European beers to pair with each option.

"It's such a shame that so many local pubs have been closing and soon there won't be any village pubs left," said Mr Driver.

"I like a challenge and if no one takes on these businesses they'll be bulldozed or left to rot - people can't afford to just drink anymore so we hope that by giving people quality food they can come and enjoy their local once again."

An open night has been planned for September 30, with people invited to come and sample some tapas dishes alongside live entertainment.
