Explore secret Norfolk gardens in all their autumn glory in October 2023 as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS).

Two hidden havens are opening to the public next month as part of the scheme, which raises money for nursing and health charities.

1. HOLME HALE HALL, SWAFFHAM, IP25 7ED 

When: Sunday, October 1, 12noon-4pm

Price: Adults: £7/children: free, book in advance at ngs.org.uk or turn-up and pay on the day 

This popular private garden has year-round interest with a walled kitchen garden growing a soft palette of herbaceous plants, which includes some unusual varieties.

There is also a greenhouse, plenty of vegetables, trained fruits and roses and a wildflower meadow.  

Light refreshments will be available in aid of another charity, by cash payment only.

2. EAST RUSTON OLD VICARAGE, NR12 9HN  

When: Saturday, October 14, 12noon-5.30pm

Price: Adults £13/children: £2, pay on the day 

There are an amazing 32 acres to explore in this exotic coastal garden, with a variety of interesting areas and an exciting mix of plants.

Light refreshments will be available on the day.
