A 60s star wowed the crowd as he joined Van Morrison on stage for the first night of the Sandringham Estate concerts.

Van Morrison performed on Friday night (August 25), kicking off Heritage Live's outdoor concert series at the estate in style.

He is followed by Robbie Williams on Saturday and Sunday, with two sell-out shows, and The Who on the Bank Holiday Monday.

There is capacity for 20,000 people at each gig and Heritage Live's managing director Giles Cooper had already teased "lots of surprises" at the concerts.

The first of these was Chris Farlowe on Friday, who is best known for the 1966 number-one single Out of Time, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
